POC @ LLC: Help me Tell Your Truth!

2010.02.01

I am deeply honored and delighted to have been invited to present and share at the Leather Leadership Conference XIV this April 9th-11th , in Detroit, Michigan! I am sure some of you will be in attendance, but I know that not everyone can do so.

I’m asking for your input, you thoughts, and your experiences.

I am presenting two classes that deal with the intricacies of being a “minority” and also a part of the BDSM and Leather Communities. I have, in my years within the BDSM and Leather Communities, spoken to hundreds of people on these topics, and I certainly enjoy incorporating folk’s experiences in my presentations.

If you’d like to share you story, your thoughts and feelings, please click on the “contact me” form to the left, and sound off! The good, the bad, the ugly and the downright WTF Hilarious, I want them all. When responding, please affirm that you agree to let me relay your story in part or in its entirety, and whether or you you wish to be specifically credited or remain anonymous.

Please spread the word! Read more…

IMsL: ready, steady, RUN…and you can help!

2010.01.19

As many of you know, upon my being awarded the Title Ms. San Francisco Leather, it became part of my Titleholder responsibility to represent San Francisco in the International Ms. Leather Competition.

Since 2009 was the first Ms. San Francisco Leather contest in a decade, this is a very exciting and somewhat daunting run I have ahead of me. I am SO grateful to everyone who has extended the hand of help, and am appealing to folks to help us bring the title Back to the Bay! Read more…

The 15 Association 30th Anniversary Dinner

“…celebrating 30 years of leather brotherhood and all it stands for!”

date: Friday, February 26, 2010
time: 06:00 PM to 10:30 PM
where: J.W. Marriott at Union Square
address: 500 Post Street, San Francisco CA 94102 map
cost: $60 — space is limited, reserve soon
dress code: formal leather

Description: Excerpted from an oral history with our Emeritus members:

“…We would have impromptu play parties after the bars would close. You got invited and you had to bring $2.00 and a six-pack of beer. It was like somebody would throw a couple of pieces of equipment in their garage and we’d have a fucking S/M party. The last 15 party kind of reminded me of that, a combination of rough sex, crowded leather and a lot of attitude. Whipping and bondage and a lot of people crowded into a room; it’s just like what we used to do. That’s what you got. There’s not really a whole lot of difference between a really good dungeon party in the sixties and seventies and what the 15 does today…

“By the mid-seventies there were no clubs yet but there were parties. Before the 15 Association, there was a group of guys that started a club that was strictly run by the Tops. The Tops would send the boys down to the basement where they would wait and then the Tops would discuss what they were going to do for the night to the boys. Then they would call the boys up, put them in like an arena, and do whatever they wanted to them, and the boys had no say, they had to do whatever the Tops wanted. And did. I don’t know if it was the third or fourth meeting, the boys revolted and said, ‘Fuck you, we don’t want to do this anymore.’ So, that didn’t work. When the 15 started several years later, most of the Fraternal brothers were Tops, it wasn’t a rule, it just turned out that way.

“Pro-doms opened dungeons in the mid-seventies and the Society of Janus was started. The Catacombs opened around the end of 1975. I remember being at the Catacombs for New Year’s 1976. That was quite a place. There was some S/M — and quite a bit of ass play and fisting, but you could truly get some S/M there if you wanted to. There were also fantasy dungeons that you could go to. Some of the founders of the 15 were at Inferno IX in 1979 (Inferno IX was an event put on by the Hellfire Club in Chicago.) They asked the Hellfire Club about starting a West Coast chapter. Hellfire suggested they organize their own group and throw parties because ‘You don’t throw parties on the West Coast.’

“Alexis Sorrell and other men from Janus, the outlying leather community, and the three men that had been to Hellfire that year formed what is now the 15 Association so that they could have a West Coast men’s leather fraternal organization.”

There are older MCs and uniform clubs, but here in the West, there is no older continuously operating men’s leather/BDSM club than the 15 Association.
Please join us in celebrating our founding, thirty years ago in February of 1980. Contact MrEasy here on FetLife for more information or for a reservation form, or download the invitation from our website.

ccwoman
Friday, December 18, 2009
Program starts at 7:30pm

Remember those hot summer nights at the county fair, feeling the thrill of the rides and trying your hand at throwing baseballs at milk jugs? THAT’S NOT THIS. Instead, we have a hot winter night of kink, fun, music, and debauchery! Throw a whip, feel a singletail, join in the vibrator races. It’s all part of the Exiles Carnal Carnival! Your regular program admission gets you Exiles Bucks to use at the carnival booths – and you can buy more Bucks for more fun too!

We’ll have raffles for kinky goods and this year, you get to CHOOSE which raffle prize you want to try for. You’ll get a raffle ticket when you come in and another for every child’s toy you donate to MAMA’S TOY DRIVE – and you can buy more raffle tickets for more chances at the goodies!

And hey, I’ll be in the Spanking Booth from 7:30 ~ 9:00 PM

New this year!!!

  • Choose exactly which raffle prizes to try for.
  • Get a temporary branding!
  • Sizzle at the electricity-play booth!
  • Leave your coat at the coat check and use your hands for more interesting things.
  • Enjoy the free yummy snacks.
  • Purchase cupcakes for the Exiles’ ASL interpreter fund.

What will it cost?

  • When you need more Exiles Bucks for the booths, you can buy them for $1 each, $5 for 6 or $10 for 13.
  • NEW: you can get yourself all-access pass, just $20 for members and $30 for non-members. Your all-access pass gets you ALL the booth-playing you want, along with 2 raffle tickets and free use of the coat check.

P.S.: If you’re bringing a gift to Mama’s Toy Drive, please bring toys and books that are NEW and UNWRAPPED. They would also like gift cards to music and clothing stores for teenagers.

Program Info

♥   Programs are on the third Friday of the month at the Women’s Building in San Francisco (3543 – 18th Street at Valencia) [map]
♥   All women (and those whose gender self-identity is other than male) who are over 18 are welcome.
♥   We have sign language interpreters at all of our meetings.
♥   Door fees are $4 for members and $10 for non-members. Please have your membership card or ID ready to speed entry.
♥   The program runs from 7:30 – 10:00pm and the doors open at 7:30pm.

Directions to The Women’s Building

Public Transit

BART: The Women’s Building is close to 16th street BART. Special note: one side-effect of gentrification in the Mission is that there are a lot of people on the streets between The Women’s Building and the BART station – all nice safe people going to one of the many new local restaurants. You’ll probably feel safe walking the few blocks from 16th Mission BART and The Women’s Building.

Muni
The 22 Fillmore runs down 16th Street. Get off at 16th & Valencia and walk two blocks to The Women’s Building.
The 14 Mission runs along Mission Street. Get off at 17th or 18th and walk 1-1/2 blocks to TWB.

Driving Directions
Driving from Marin County -
Take the Golden Gate Bridge (101 South) to Lombard Street.
Turn right on Gough (if you get to Van Ness, you went 2 blocks too far).
Take Gough all the way to Market Street. Stay in the center lane.
Turn right onto Market, then a quick left onto Valencia.
Go to 18th Street and look for parking, or continue to 21st for the parking garage. (For fewer hills but more stop lights: from Lombard Street, turn right onto Van Ness instead of Gough, and follow the directions above.)

Parking Garage
Street parking is difficult in this neighborhood. There is an inexpensive locked parking garage available on 21st St. between Valencia and Mission and 16th and on Hoff St between Mission and Valencia.
